How to Identify The Correct V-Belt Type & Number
In daily maintenance work, you must have gone through the situation where you unable to find the belt size in machines might be due to breaking of V-Belt or due to wearing of the Belt label. In this article i'll be giving some tips & guide to tackle this situation & guiding you to identify the correct belt number by simple measuring the V-Belt.
Identifying a replacement belt is something you can do quite easily and quickly. Below is the Step wise process to Identify the Belt Size.
STEP 1 - Measure the Cross-section of V-Belt simply through Vernier.
- Measure the Top Width of V-Belt.
- Measure the Thickness of V-Belt.
- The Cross Section V-belt cross sections can be identified by their top width and depth dimensions.
- For example, a V-belt with a top width of 17 mm and a depth of 11 mm is a “B” Section belt.
- Find the size chart below for commonly used Belt Section.
STEP 2 - Determine V-belt Length using the belt measuring tool is the easiest way, But we can identify it manually through the below mentioned Parameter.
